In 1956, Karen Blixen received a letter from a young American admirer: Eugene Walter (1921–1998). Walter had been captivated by Isak Dinesen’s Seven Gothic Tales while serving as a soldier in World War II. His letter sparked a life-affirming friendship with Karen Blixen, and a warm, humorous, and imaginative correspondence.

On this special guided tour, Museum Director Jakob Malling Lambert presents a selection of the letters, offering unique insight into Karen Blixen’s final years and her lifelong connection to America.

Come and experience the cheerful atmosphere and a unique puppet theatre featuring a hot air balloon and a cardinal on a motorcycle!
